Anglo-Saxon Cultural Values Blog Post

Always Connected

The culture of the time and country in which we live is almost completely different than that of Anglo-Saxon times. The majority of the changes are to the core values that define our culture and way of living our lives. If somebody chooses to study our history and stories in a thousand years, some ideas might stand out to them such as the fact that the whole world just started getting interconnected and synchronized, where you can access anything at the touch of a button. Another one might be the fact that millions die in Africa and nobody cries but one certain person dies and millions more cry. Another one could be that people are just starting to do something about energy sources. Yet another might be the fact that we haven’t had an earthquake in the eastern us for a long time and then we have one which nobody knew what it was let alone expect it to happen.

In America as we know it, people have a lot of values that are important to them. These values are: personality, money, style, love, and family. Personality pertains to everyone but no two are exactly alike. Money also pertains to everybody but how much value it is to them usually depend on how much they have. Style varies from person to person but there can be two alike kinds. Love is what makes the world go ‘round so by default that must pertain to people’s lives. Family is a sub category of love and everyone has it in some way. Otherwise we would not be here now. Love and family also pertain to the Anglo-Saxon times but in a different way.
